I am not having a good week. Mostly because I am hating my job right now. I don't even know why I hate my job; I just don't want to come anymore. I'm bored with it. I need something new and different. I'm to the point that I'm considering cutting hair again. I'm going to my friend's 21st birthday party Saturday night, and I was going to ask the cute boy to go with me, but I haven't even seen him this week. This week sucks! Hopefully it'll get better. I got paid today, so that helps. On Friday, I'm going to do Habitat for Humanity with the student senate. I have to be here at 8:15 in the morning, but other than that, I'm kind of excited. It's just 6 more days until the Prince concert. I can't wait for that. My dad is going to be here next Saturday, and I'm really stoked about that. I took most of that week off, but I'll have to come back and work one day. That's part of the reason I'm upset. I was told a while back that I would be able to take all that time off, and now I can't. I can't because the OLA conference is that week, and it would have been okay for me to take off for OLA, but since the reason I want off isn't OLA, I can't, which I think is a huge load of crap. God, it feels good to vent.

I went to a forum today about the proposed Oklahoma Education Lottery. Governor Brad Henry spoke about how it will pay for early childhood and higher education. Oklahoma is only 1 of 11 states without a lottery. Also, he said that in the proposal, a minimum of $250,000 is earmarked for gambling addiction education and support. Oregon has roughly the same population as Oklahoma, and they have made over $1 billion in education improvements. Along with the lottery is a proposed constitutional amendment that would prevent the legislature from backdooring general funds out of education and being replaced by the lottery revenues. I know this was one major concern of a lot of people. Channel 5 was there, and asked me what I thought about it. I told them that I liked the idea, and that anything that makes Oklahoma smarter is a wonderful idea. I was supposed to be on the 5 o'clock news tonight. I don't know if I was or not, though, because I was working.

It's official! I am now a student senator.

My cable got disconnected, and I'm still alive! It's been, like, a week with out TV. I'm just glad the VCR and DVD players still work. I've been watching The Fellowship of the Ring, and am planning on watching The Cat and The Hat tonight. Also I'm rereading my Harry Potter books, which is quite enjoyable. They're very addictive. I didn't start reading them until after I had watched the first movie, now I can't wait for a new book, and the 3rd movie is coming out this summer! Yeah!

Those of you who know me, know that I am a stark supporter of our Commander in Chief, President George W. Bush. He's the man, vote for him.

I had a great weekend this weekend. I went to Tulsa on Thursday afternoon, and got home just in time to get ready for work today. I spent Thursday afternoon hanging out with Shannon. I used to see him on a daily basis, and now only see him once or twice a year. I need to make more of an effort to hang out with him, because we have a blast everytime we are together. This morning when I stopped at QuikTrip, I saw Israel. I haven't seen him in like 2 years, and I called him Thursday night, but he didn't answer. It was kind of a trip. I wish I had had more time to talk to him, but I had to head home. Sydney's birthday party was yesterday. It was fun. The cakes were adorable. Karissa worked really hard, and the party turned out really well.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Are you wearing green?

Next Tuesday, I am going to be sworn into the Student Senate. There are 21 student senators. They call them the 21 brightest minds on campus. Go me. I think it's going to be lots of fun. I've pretty much participated in all of the activities that they've held so far this year anyway, and I'm planning on participating in everything else, so why not just go all out and be one of them. Also, I declared a major. I was a Liberal Studies major, which basically just means that I didn't know what I wanted to do anyway, so I declared History so that I could be the Student Senate Division Merit Appointee for the Social Sciences department. I had been trying to decide if I wanted to declare English or History, anyway, because I didn't want to be Liberal Studies anymore, so this senate opportunity kind of decided for me.
That said, I hate school, and I don't want to go anymore. What I'm thinking is that I can start CLEPing out of classes, and hopefully I can CLEP my way to an associates degree. My main problem with school is having to go to class, so if I can just do the studying and work through the book on my own, I shouldn't have a problem testing out.

I'm thinking about getting a hair cutting job again. If I can cut hair part time, I'll have an extra paycheck, and I'll have tips to live on throughout the month. Also, the people of Midwest City will have a great cosmetological skill like no other available to them. Cause we all know I'm the best hairdresser in the state of Oklahoma.

We went to the zoo on Saturday. It was raining. It was a lot colder than I thought it would be, and I forgot my umbrella. We got on the tram and rode it to the monkeys, got off, looked at the gorillas and the big cats, got back on the tram, and left. We did see the baby gorilla. It's really cute.

I got not one, but two new kittens this weekend; a girl kitten for mom, and a boy kitten for me. My kitten is white with grey on his head and beautiful blue eyes. His name is Colby. Mom's kitten is white with grey on the tip of her tail and light tan on her head. Her name is Fiona. I love my kitties. They sleep with me. They're so sweet. Roach, my dog, isn't adjusting well to the new additions. He avoids them at all costs. It's really pretty funny; he acts like he's tough, till you bring out a harmless adorable kitten. Okay, they're not that harmless. I'm covered in little scratches on my arms and legs. They don't mean to do it of course, they just don't know to work their claws yet.

This week is spring break. Most college students love spring break, but personally I'm not a fan. My normal work schedule is 1-10 everyday, but on spring break I have to work 8-5. I'm having some trouble adjusting. Today and tomorrow, I'm taking vacation time and coming in at 10 so I can sleep a little later.

I'm having my cable disconnected today. Those of you who know me, know how much I love my TV. This is a big step for me, but it's a step I need to make, and at the end of the day, I've got to be okay with that.

The Friends of the Library are going to the zoo this Saturday. It's the zoo's 100th birthday celebration, and I didn't even know that when we were planning the event. It's probably going to rain, because that's what happens everytime you make outdoor plans in March in Oklahoma. Actually, I would prefer for it to rain; I have an umbrella. Since it's a big event, there will probably be a lot of people, but if it rains there won't be so many. The zoo has a baby gorilla that was born on Jan. 25, so that will be fun to see.

Well, Matthew didn't make it on American Idol. It makes me a little sad, but I'll get over it. . .'cause Colby's still on Survivor.

A couple of months ago, a handsome young man in the library called me a hot chick. It's a very rare occurrence, so it kind of took me by surprise. I notice him every time he comes in the library, and we've talked a couple of times. He was in today, and we had a really nice conversation. Hopefully, he'll ask me out soon, cause I can't take the stress of it much longer. He seems like a great guy, smart, funny, HOT, you know, all of the necessary attributes. Also, he's going to school, so he's probably going somewhere in his life. I'm going to stop there, but I could ramble about him for days. I'll keep you posted on how it's going.

Is everyone voting for American Idol? Matthew Metzger's number is 1-866-436-5706. Tonight he sang When I See You Smile. He did a really good job considering his song choice. I'm typing 1 handed, and voting with the other. I'll be deeply disappointed if he doesn't make it to the next round.

I went to the Three Dog Night concert last night. I wasn't impressed. The sound wasn't very good. You couldn't understand anything that they were singing. The best part was laughing at this couple of hippies. They were both wearing tie dyed t-shirts, and the woman was wearing purple nylon shorts, black socks, and black shoes; the man was wearing white nylon shorts and sandals. I must admit that seeing these two made the whole night worth it.

So, a couple of days ago, I decided that I want to buy my mom a cat for St. Patrick's Day. I was thinking that I would get a kitten, put a green bow around it's neck, and name it Patti O'Malley for the occasion. The plan has become a little more elaborate than that. Here's the deal. I don't think that I can afford to buy a cat until the first of the month, but for the last couple of days I've been telling her that I'm going to get her a St. Patrick's Day surprise. So, on St. Patrick's Day, I'm going to tell her she'll have to wait until the 1st of the month for the surprise. The first of the month, as you may know, is April Fool's Day. On that day, I'm going to tell her that there wasn't really a surprise, it was all just an April Fools Day joke, then the next day, or later that day, I'm going to present her with the kitten. I think it's brilliant, and touching on evil genius.
