MIA
Sorry I haven't been around. I didn't get out of jury duty, so I have been trying to finish my homework for my class before I have to serve. Also, I'm going on vacation from the November 19-30, so I probably won't be back here until December 1. When I get back, I should have some pictures and some good stories to tell. You all have a good Thanksgiving and all that stuff.
Have a nice day!

Follow up to yesterday
One of the librarians and I went to the bar and had a couple of beers with Short Bald last night. It was fun. He has the bluest eyes. He calls me pookie in a really cute joking kind of way. I feel like a 15 year old girl around him. I love/hate it that a boy can make me feel that way. I can't wait until he realizes that I'm way not as sweet and innocent as he thinks I am.
Also, I watched Pet Sematary last night for the first time ever. Scared the crap out of myself. I'm such a wuss.
Have a nice day!

My crush
I have a crush on the short bald guy that comes into the library. He's almost 40. It's really weird. I don't usually like older guys, I even make fun of Brion for liking older guys. The bald thing is a new one too. I have a major hair obsession, so it feels kind of odd having a crush on the bald guy. He seems pretty nice, and picks on me a lot the way boys do. Maybe I can get some sweet lovin' from him sometime in the future.
Have a nice day!

I'm bored, so that means...
Quizzes!!!
| The Keys to Your Heart |
You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart. In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored. You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring. You would be forced to break up with someone who was insecure and in constant need of reassurance. Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets. Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment. You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred. In this moment, you think of love as something you can get or discard anytime. You're feeling self centered. |
| Slow and Steady |
Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy. They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder. It'd really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment. They expect you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then usually decide against it. |
| Your Inner Child Is Surprised |
You see many things through the eyes of a child. Meaning, you're rarely cynical or jaded. You cherish all of the details in life. Easily fascinated, you enjoy experiencing new things. |
| What Your Underwear Says About You |
You enjoy wearing nice underwear, even if it comes at a hefty price tag. You're sexy, in that pinup girl, tease sort of way. |
| Your Fortune Is |
| You Are 40% Weird |
Normal enough to know that you're weird... But too damn weird to do anything about it! |
| Your Personality Profile |
You are pure, moral, and adaptable. You tend to blend into your surroundings. Shy on the outside, you're outspoken to your friends. You believe that you live a virtuous life... And you tend to judge others with a harsh eye. As a result, people tend to crave your approval. |
This is so true it's scary. If you don't try any of the rest, try this one.
| Butterfinger |
They call you sticky fingers for a reason! |
| Your Blog Should Be Purple |
You're an expressive, offbeat blogger who tends to write about anything and everything. You tend to set blogging trends, and you're the most likely to write your own meme or survey. You are a bit distant though. Your blog is all about you - not what anyone else has to say. |
Hm, purple wouldn't be bad. Too bad blogger doesn't have a purple template.
| Your Monster Profile |
Demon Vagabond You Feast On: Hot Dogs You Lurk Around In: Flocks of Freshmen You Especially Like to Torment: Your Evil Twin |
Truth is, I'm the evil one. Don't tell. :)
| A |
Hardly anything gets by you... You have a great memory and eagle eyes |
| Your Birthdate: November 27 |
Your birth on the 27th day of the month (9 energy) adds a tone of selflessness and humanitarianism to your life path. Certainly, you are one who can work very well with people, but at the same time you need a good bit of time to be by yourself to rest and meditate. There is a very humanistic and philanthropic approach in most of things that you do. This birthday helps you be broadminded, tolerant, generous and very cooperative. You are the type of person who uses persuasion rather than force to achieve your ends. You tend to be very sensitive to others' needs and feelings, and you're able to give much in the way of friendship without expecting a lot in return. |
This is another freaky one. You should see what your birthday says about you, and how close to the mark it is.
BTW, I'm going to be in California visiting my dad on my birthday this year. I'm super excited.
| Your Musical Tastes Match: Dale Earnhardt Jr. |
See his whole playlist here (iTunes required) |
Jr. must have really good taste in music.
| Your Brain's Pattern |
Your mind is an incubator for good ideas, it just takes a while for them to develop. But when you think of something, watch out! Your thoughts tend to be huge, and they come on quickly - like an explosion. You tend to be quiet around others, unless you're inspired by your next big idea. |
| Your Hidden Talent |
You have the power to persuade and influence others. You're the type of person who can turn a whole room around. The potential for great leadership is there, as long as you don't abuse it. Always remember, you have a lot more power over people than you might think! |
| Your Animal Personality |
Your Power Animal: Eagle Animal You Were in a Past Life: Whale You are active, a challenger, and optimistic. Hard-working, you are always working towards a set goal. |
Okay, I'm done with the quizzes. I got a jury duty summons in the mail this weekend. Last time I got one, I was really excited about it; this time, not so much.

I'm so over it.
The Lottery, that is. I've spent a total of $17 on tickets, and won a total of $0. There are way better things I can do with my money. Like flush it down the toilet.

The Weekend From Hell
On Thursday night, I went to Tulsa to visit friends and babysit their kids so they could have a romantic getaway. We got up early Friday morning and took the kids to school so I'd know where their school was to go pick them up. They were supposed to leave at 10. At 9:30, the school called. One of the lovely little children had a fever and needed to be picked up. We picked him up, they left. I explained to him that since he came home sick from school, he had to stay in bed all day. That idea didn't sit well with the 6 yr old with ADD, but alas, I'm bigger than him, so he did it. I stayed in the living room and napped. He came in every 45 minutes to ask what time it was, and remind me that we had to go pick up is 4 yr old sister at 2:45. Finally I told him, look dude, it's okay, I'm not going to forget her. We made it to the school on time and picked up little sis, and all was good. Little sis does have a bit of an attitude though. We got back to the house and started a movie. Sis wanted to turn the lights off, I didn't let her. Sis went ran to her bedroom crying, stood in the doorway and screamed, "You're not my friend anymore!", and slammed the door. It was so cute! It cracked me up. My mom came and picked up the kids around 9, and I was free to go.
Since I was in Tulsa, I went to my brother's to spend some time with my adorable niece. She's 2 1/2, and she gets so excited when she sees me. It makes me feel so good. So, we were hanging out and watching TV and being stupid. Before I knew it, it was a quarter to midnight, and I was like, holy crap, I have to go home! See, we have 4 dogs at home that needed to be cared for. Anyway, my sister-in-law convinced me that the dogs would be fine and that it would be safer for me to wait until morning to go home. Boy, am I glad she did. I had a blowout on the turnpike on the way home. Cars where whizzing past me at 75 mph, and I was sitting on the ground, changing a tire for the first time. Ever. In my life! It was so scary and stressful, but I didn't cry. It's the first time ever something has gone wrong with my car and I didn't cry. No one stopped to help me. What ever happened to chivalry? It only took me 15 minutes to change it, and I was back on the road. I got off the turnpike at the next exit because I didn't want to drive 75 on a donut, and I didn't want to slow up traffic. I got lost. The trip home that should have taken me an hour and a half ended up taking almost 3 hours!
When I got home, the dogs were fine by the way, I realized that somewhere between giving the kids to my mom and getting home, I lost $20. That may not seem like much to some of you, but to me, $20 is a LOT of money.
Now that made me cry.

Oh happy day!
Reasons today, October 12, 2005 is a wonderful day:
>You can finally buy lottery tickets in the state of Oklahoma.
>Freddie Prinze Jr.'s new sitcom "Freddie" starts tonight.
I LOVE scratch lottery tickets. They're so much fun. I do not love that 7-11 isn't participating in the selling of lottery tickets. I was, however, able to compile a list of places in Midwest City that DO sell lottery tickets. This list was made possible by the way too expensive Microsoft Access class that I am taking. I may try to figure out how to post it for those of you who live in Midwest City.
I also LOVE Freddie Prinze Jr. Most of the time I refer to him as my future husband. I also refer to Sarah Michelle Gellar as my future husband's future ex-wife. :) I'm pretty sure that "Freddie" is going to be crap, but since I love Freddie, I'm going to watch it until it gets cancelled. You should too. For me. Please.
Have a nice day!

And the winner is...
Brion. He was the first, and only person to email me with the answer to the trivia question.
FYI: Kal-El is Superman's Kryptonian name.

A little friendly competition
Okay, here's the deal: Nicholas Cage just had a baby boy. He named the child Kal-El.
Where did the name Kal-El come from?
The first person to email me with the correct answer will get a prize. I haven't decided what the prize is yet, but it will be cool.
