Rosie O'Donnell is leaving The View 3 weeks early, after her blow up with Elizabeth on Wednesday. Rosie was scheduled off for Kelli's birthday on Thursday and Friday's shows are prerecorded. It was announced today that she won't be coming back. I love Rosie, and started watching The View when she joined the team. Before today, well Wednesday really, I had planned on continuing on after Rosie left, but I think I'm done with The View now. Also, much props to Rosie's writer, Janine, for having to be escorted from ABC studios after she was caught drawing mustaches on pictures of Elizabeth. A little immature, but funny none the less. Have a good day. Peace out!

Seduction Style
I stole this from Monty, who stole it from someone else, so it's okay.

Excellent News!
Friday night/Saturday morning, my brother-in-law got a new kidney! He'd been on the transplant list for a little over a year, and now the waiting is over. Keep Aaron in your prayers. Everything is going well so far, let's hope that continues.

My funny story
So, a couple of weeks ago I went on a "date" with a guy who works here. Here's the set up. I don't date a lot, and I, like most women, usually go for bad guys. That hasn't been working for me, so I decide to change my game. This guy is a super nerd. He's 24, still lives at home, and doesn't even have a driver's license. Before I knew that, I emailed one of my friends who works in the same department as him and asked her to tell me about him. Well, she didn't, she just told him I asked about him. The day after I sent the email, I asked another friend in his department about him, and she told me he lived at home, was 24 & didn't have a license. She also told me I would have to teach him everything. I decided at that point that I was no longer interested. Well, a couple of days later he came looking for me, and he was so nervous he could hardly talk. I told him to give me his number and I'd call him, with no intention to call him. He asked if I wanted to go to lunch the next day, and I said yes, then someone in my family died, and I told him I just wasn't feeling it that day, I'd call him to set something up. That next day, he called me 4 times, and text messaged me at 2 o'clock in the morning. I thought that was kind of freaky, but he was just eager, so I blew it off. We made plans to go to the zoo the next Saturday. I picked him up (strike one) at his momma's house (strike two). On the 30 minute drive to the zoo, the conversation was not good (strike three), and I realized it definitely wasn't going to work out. The zoo was super crowded, so I suggested that we go to a movie so at least it would count as a date, and I wouldn't have to talk to him anymore. Well, we got to the theatre, and it was going to be a while before anything started, so I suggested that we come back to our little town, and find something to do here, knowing damn well that I was taking him home. I didn't tell him I was taking him home until we were about a block from his house. I said I didn't think it was going to work, and I was taking him home. He asked why, and I said it just wasn't going to work. He asked if it was because he was so young, and I just said yes to shut him up. We pulled into the driveway, he got out of the car, and started asking what it was, was I nervous, what, and GOT BACK IN THE CAR! I told him I wasn't having a good time, and just wanted to go, so he got out, and I left. I've seen him around a couple of times, but I haven't made any eye contact with him, and he also seemed to be avoiding eye contact with me.
Now to today. It was pouring rain, and I was outside smoking with a friend. We were standing under the overhang, where it was dry. I saw the guy and another person from his department coming. The other person from his department walked under the overhang where it was dry, but the guy totally walked through the rain so he wouldn't have to walk right past me. It cracked me up. I'm still laughing about it, and telling everyone I know. I hope he didn't think him walking through the rain would hurt me in any way, cause he was wet, and I was totally still dry. What a dumb ass!

ABSTRACT COOKIES
3/4 cup softened margarine
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. milk
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup oatmeal
6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
10 oz. pkg. peanut butter chips
1/2 peeled chopped apple
Preheat oven at 350º. In a large bowl, stir together margarine, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla until creamy. Next, beat in eggs and milk. Set aside. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Blend flour mixture into the contents already in the large bowl. Finally, add honey, pecans, oatmeal, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and apple. Put on a greased cookie sheet in tablespoon sized balls. Cook at 350º for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Makes 48 cookies.
I created this recipe during my sophomore year of high school for a Future Homemakers of America (FHA) competition. The competition was the A-OK Cook-Off. At least half of the ingredients had to be native to Oklahoma. I got first prize at sub-district.
I'm posting this here because I lost my copy and had to have my aunt email it to me. I figure if it's posted here, I'll always know where a copy is.
If you make them, let me know what you think.

I'm sad
We found out around Thanksgiving that my great aunt's longtime boyfriend had a cancerous growth. That's the "bad thing" that I was referring to here. It's going to kill him. Not very long after that we found out that my (same) great aunt's daughter has lung cancer. She's dying right now. She could have died already; I asked them not to call me with any news until after I get off work tonight. She smoked for many many years. She successfully quit smoking just a few months before she was diagnosed. You'd think that would be good motivation for me to quit smoking, but it hasn't worked yet. Anyway, I'm feeling very alone right now. I want to be with my family right now. I need their support. I've got a couple of relatives here, but because of my weird hours, I don't see them very often, and they're in bed when I get off work, so I don't want to bug them. It's times like this that I really miss my dad. There are certain things that only a hug from my daddy will make better, and this is one of them. *(Dad, I'm not trying to make you feel bad, and I don't want you to feel bad, but that's just how I'm feeling.)* Anyway, hope your day is going better than mine.

Again, seriously?
"Teacher had sex with 5 teens, police say" is the title of the article linked above. Again, I don't understand the thought process that would lead a middle school teacher to believe that it would be a good idea to have sex with 14-15 year old students. Does she not watch the news? She's pretty young, does she not remember what it was like when she was in high school and all the guys were talking on Monday morning about the chick they nailed over the weekend? Does she not listen to any of the conversation going on in the halls of her school? 14-15 year old boys kiss and tell. They're boys, that's what they do, ESPECIALLY if they just nailed the teacher! I just don't get it.

Seriously, people
Okay, first things first, I'm back! I got burned out on blogging for a while, but I think I'm ready to make a big comeback. Britney thought she was ready for a big comeback too, though, and we all saw how that's turned out.
Disclaimer: I quit smoking again. It's been 6 days, and so far, today has been the bitchyist.
Now, there have been some stories in the news recently that really pissed me off/boggled my mind. Let's get to it.
Principal charged with dealing crystal meth out of his office Seriously? I'm curious as to what made this man think this was a good idea.
Court: Bury Anna Nicole in the Bahamas Thank God they made the right decision. Her mother is an evil little woman who doesn't deserve the right to visit her daughter's grave when ever she pleases. I'm glad that if she wants to, it will be a major inconvenience for her. That's what she gets for being a media whore in the wake of her grandson's and daughter's death.
American Idol: It's Official - "Porn Idol" Antonella Is Safe Frenchie Davis should sue American Idol for discrimination. They kicked her off for just having topless photos. In the pictures of Antonella, she is performing a sex act. It's just not right.
Katherine Heigl Not Feeling Grey's Love This cast needs to band together like the cast of friends did when negotiating contracts. Everyone on Grey's Anatomy is equally as important to the series, and should be paid equally.
Sorority Accused of Being Skin Deep 23 girls were asked to leave sorority. "They included every woman who was overweight as well as the only black, Korean and Vietnamese members." I don't even know what to say about this, which comes out the same day as this:
Study: Vanity on the rise among college students Well, no wonder, apparently you have to be white, blond, and thin to succeed.
Also, I want to send a shout out to Jennifer Hudson for winning an Oscar for best supporting actress without being white, blond, or thin. Congrats, J. Hud.
That is all.

Mom moved last weekend. Turns out the party going on at Amanda's is a big pity party for me. I'm a lot more lonely than I thought I would be. It's going to take a little while for me to adjust to living alone again. I was off the non-smoking wagon for a couple of weeks, but I'm back on again. It's been 3 days, and it's raining again already. I'm almost convinced that bad things happen when I quit smoking. I have to keep telling myself that bad things are going to happen whether I'm smoking or not, so I might as well not smoke. I've lost 16 lbs. since I started Weight Watchers 2 months ago. I've been feeling pretty good about myself, but it's getting to be that time of year when I get the blues. I wish it didn't happen, but at least I know it's coming, and can get myself on an antidepressant before things get bad. I know there are a lot of people out there who enjoy the holidays, but honestly, they just make me sad. I long for the days when we were one big happy family. Everything is so different now with all the drama and everything.
I don't have the energy for this right now...maybe more later.
